How Long Do Most Kids Wear Braces?

Dental braces are the best tools to correct crooked teeth and a misaligned bite in childhood, when the teeth and the jaws are not yet fully developed. In some cases, removable braces like invisalign that the child needs to use only during the day or only at night are sufficient to realign the denture, while in other cases braces that stay in the mouth all the time are more efficient and in the most severe cases, the usage of the braces is combined with surgery to remove teeth as well.

The amount of the time the child needs to wear the braces or invisalign varies depending on the severity of the dental misalignment and on how fast the teeth move to the place where they should be, but most kids need to wear the braces for at least two years. During that time, the child’s denture needs to be inspected regularly, every month or every second month, by a qualified orthodontist or a licensed Invisalign Loveland dentist who specializes in child orthodontics. During the visits, the specialist will inspect the braces, as well as the denture, and will perform adjustments to make sure the braces guide the movement of the teeth correctly, into the right direction, while also maintaining the health of the teeth.
