Professional teeth bleaching is performed by dentists and it is the most thorough, most efficient dental cleaning procedure available. The Loveland orthodontics professionals do not recommend teeth bleaching for younger patients. The method will give you teeth that are several shades whiter than before the treatment, whiteness that you surely want to maintain for as long as possible. Here are some things that you can do to maintain that bright smile:
- Pay special attention to what you eat and drink for a couple of days after the treatment – teeth can become stained more easily during the first 48 hours after professional bleaching, so try to avoid foods and drinks that can discolor your teeth, such as coffee, black tea, acidic food, including lemons and sour fruits, dark chocolate and red wine;
- Limit your intake of colored foods and drinks later, too – the above foods and drinks can stain your teeth even after they have recovered from the bleaching, so try to consume as little of them as possible;
- Thorough cleaning – brush your teeth twice a day, floss in the evening and use a good quality mouthwash, too. Carry a toothbrush and a toothpaste with you at all time and use them after you have consumed foods or beverages that could stain or otherwise harm your teeth.
