Discover below what are the main types of abnormalities that can be corrected with the help of orthodontics treatment.

Dental crowding

Cramped teeth are unsightly and can influence the aesthetics of the smile, but they can also cause numerous health problems. Dental crowding is a form of dental malocclusion (class I),  which can cause a lot of inconveniences to patients.

Overbite

Dental malocclusion is usually caused by problems related to the shape and size of the jaw or teeth. The overbite is a form of class II dental malocclusion, diagnosed when the upper front teeth protrude far in front of the lower ones (the jaw has developed more than the mandible). It can have a hereditary cause or be influenced by vicious habits in childhood, such as sucking the finger or the  pacifier after the age of 2 years.

Underbite

The underbite is a class III dental malocclusion and is diagnosed when the lower front teeth are protruding far forward, or the upper ones are retracted far back. This is also the type of malocclusion that is most difficult to treat. The patient with this reverse occlusion will have difficulty in normal opening of the mouth, and the process of mastication can be significantly affected. There is a space  between the upper and lower teeth, which can affect the pronunciation.
